About Me
Hi there, I am Ashna, a counselling psychologist who somehow ended up blending two worlds most people never imagine together: psychology and prosthetics.
Right after finishing my M.A. in Applied Psychology from NSUT, Dwarka (2022–2024), I jumped straight into the deep end at the JPN Apex Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi (July 2024–October 2025). Working with people who had gone through life-altering physical injuries taught me that trauma is not just something the body remembers, the mind often holds onto it even more tightly.
At AIIMS, my days were a mix of supporting individuals dealing with post-traumatic symptoms, anxiety, depressive symptoms, and body-image struggles. Somewhere in between all of that, I managed to publish an article in a SCOPUS- and PubMed-indexed international journal (another one is on its way and yes, I am still proud of that small victory).
Before I was a full-time psychologist, I lived an entirely different but strangely connected life. From 2019 to 2022, I worked at Otto Bock Healthcare India as an RCI-Licensed Rehabilitation Professional (Prosthetist and Orthotist). That meant designing, aligning, and fitting prosthetic devices and more importantly, walking alongside people as they rebuilt their lives, identities, and confidence after amputation (limb loss). The counselling I did there is what nudged me toward psychology in the first place.
So now, here I am, a hybrid of sorts, someone who
understands both the mechanics of the body and the storms of the mind.
Outside of therapy, I find joy in the smallest things and in watching or listening to anything from the horror, mystery, and thriller genres.
I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with and support you on your path to mental health. Feel free to reach out, and let's begin this journey together.
