About Me
My relationship with psychology began with generic curiosity as a student, eventually becoming something far more personal when I was diagnosed with mental health conditions of my own. That experience, being on the other side of the therapy chair has shaped everything about how I practice today.
I'm fascinated by this field precisely because of its contradictions: it's constantly evolving, yet rooted in wisdom that's ancient and enduring. I don't align myself with a single modality. Instead, I draw from multiple approaches, mainly person centered therapy, internal family systems, trauma informed care, and combine them based on what actually benefits the person in front of me.
I hold myself to one rule as a therapist: "don't be a hypocrite". I won't recommend a technique or exercise unless I believe in it and have practiced it myself. My approach is built on that same authenticity, informed as much by my experience as a client and my clinical training. I work with individuals navigating relationship difficulties, severe emotional neglect, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety and complex family dynamics.
My practice is queer affirming and neurodiversity affirming. I bring both professional grounding and personal understanding to trauma work in particular. I think of myself as a container. A tupperware box, a steel tin, a vintage ceramic pickle jar, whatever you need it to be. Something that can hold what you feel and think, especially in the moments you don't want to hold it yourself. Sometimes just being seen, in our worst and best moments, is healing in itself. That is how I would describe what I do as a therapist.
When I'm not working, I enjoy cooking, spending time watching podcasts and reading books. True crime is my go to genre. I particularly love spending time with my partner and our friends trying different recipes on a weekend. Other than this, I have a massive love for anything ocean related. My current obsession is whales and octopus! I used to be a photographer for a few years so photography and videography is still a passion for me.
