About Me
I hold a Master of Counselling from the University of Edinburgh and trained within the COSCA-accredited Master of Counselling (Interpersonal Dialogue) programme. I have completed over 150 hours of supervised clinical practice and work with adults using a relational, trauma-informed and queer-affirmative approach. My clinical practice includes work at Hope Park and Access Counselling in Edinburgh, where I worked with adults from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, and individuals with histories of trauma. I also have experience offering therapy in virtual formats.
At the heart of my work is a relational, trauma-informed approach that prioritises the experience of safety. I understand trauma as overwhelming emotional experience that occurs in the absence of a relationship in which it can be held and processed. From this perspective, therapy becomes an act of presence: offering a consistent, non-judgemental relationship in which suffering does not have to be carried alone. I am deeply passionate about creating a space where clients feel seen, emotionally held, and accepted in all their parts.
I find co-creating a facilitative therapeutic environment deeply fulfilling and strive to practise with love, justice, and empathy. My passion for therapy comes from its capacity to offer connection where there has been isolation, and to make healing possible through a safe, consistent relationship.
I find rest in being around trees and walks in parks. I enjoy murder mysteries, thrillers and whodunits. I love music and messing around with my ukulele. And I love animals, and will take any chance to pet a dog or cat.
